Modernization of SE Poultry Research Lab / AthensGA
Ever wonder how our poultry food supply is kept safe?

This design-build project consists of the demolition of 24 buildings, approximately 69,000 SF, the new construction of four buildings (approximately 245,000 SF), and the replacement of all existing utility infrastructure for the U.S National Poultry Research Center, South East Poultry Research Laboratory (SEPRL) campus in Athens, Georgia. The four new buildings (B43, B45, B46, and B47) were designed to include cast-in-place (CIP) foundation walls with pad footings, structural steel, structural CMU, masonry veneer with insulated metal wall panels, and standing seam metal roofing (SSMR).

The project also includes a new access road to the site, fire alarm and fire suppression systems, direct digital control (DDC) systems for all buildings, landscaping, and paving, emergency generators, commissioning of all HVAC systems, construction of a central utility plant (CUP) heating and cooling services, and electrical services, effluent decontamination system (EDS), security features including card access systems, cameras, and screening access equipment.
