This design-build project involved replacing two facilities at two locations on the New Jersey shore, including U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Station Atlantic City, NJ, and USCG Station Manasquan Inlet. Both of these stations were severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy on October 29, 2012, and this project is part of the U. S. Coast Guard's Hurricane Sandy Relief program.

The portion of the project located in Point Pleasant, NJ included the design and rebuilding of the multi-mission building (MMB) and upgrade of associated utilities and site/marine conditions at USCG Station Manasquan Inlet. The MMB houses a large boat maintenance bay on the first floor along with parts and tools storage, boatswain’s office, and receiving area. The second and third floors feature administrative offices, command center, mess deck and galley (kitchen and dining area), laundry facilities, locker rooms, and fitness area, training rooms, and nine berthing rooms (dormitory rooms). Like the Atlantic City Boat Maintenance Facility, the MMB consists of a three-story steel-stud building built on a concrete foundation supported by concrete piles, enclosed by brick and fiber-cement siding on a split-faced CMU exterior wainscot and a standing seam metal roofing system. The MMB is designed to achieve LEED certification.

USCG Station Manasquan Inlet was built in 1936 at Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and, while it has retained much of its original appearance, it houses state-of-the-art technology to support its vital search-and-rescue and law enforcement missions. Station Manasquan Inlet is currently occupied by 30 crewmen and women who respond to approximately 600 search-and-rescue cases each year. Located at the northern terminus of the Intracoastal Waterway, as many as 1600 boats can pass through Manasquan Inlet on a given summer weekend. The Inlet is home to a fleet of commercial fishing and charter boats, and presents itself as the “Fishing Capital of the World”.
