The Family Partnerships’ Purpose:
To Clear the Path for Family Success
The Vision for the Building:
A space that is accessible, welcoming, safe, healing, holistic, and flexible
The Family Partnership (TFP) is an innovative and impactful 141-year-old community-based organization that serves families in Minneapolis impacted by poverty and adverse circumstances. Over the last five years, demand for TFP’s programs has risen by 50 percent, leaving many families without crucial support.
The new building will provide three times more space for TFP programs. The renovation and addition will:
- Expand educational spaces for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with an indoor gym and outdoor playground
- Add convenient and flexible mental health and therapy services
- Create a supportive, convenient, and private safe space for survivors of sex trafficking
- Include collaboration space and multi-purpose community rooms
The site will move TFP into the heart of the communities it serves in the Phillips and Powderhorn neighborhoods. With the new space, TFP can improve services to provide a two-generation (2Gen) approach, which is proven to interrupt the cycle of intergenerational poverty and trauma.
