What can a soccer facility bring to a college campus?

Building on the success of Kansas State University’s visionary athletics’ master plan, Mortenson | GE Johnson renovated K-State's Tointon Family Stadium and built a permanent home for the soccer program at Buser Family Park.

Home of Wildcat baseball, Tointon Family Stadium was expanded, nearly tripling the stadium's square footage. Improvements were made to the playing field and bullpens, suites and press boxes, as well as chairback seating throughout the grandstand. With a continued focus on gameday, a towering videoboard was also installed in right field. To accommodate student-athletes, Mortenson | GE Johnson delivered the team clubhouse two weeks ahead of schedule. This space boasts a spacious locker room, meeting rooms, lounge, nutritional areas, and a sports medicine rehabilitation zone.

Built on the site of a temporary facility, Buser Family Park is home of Wildcat soccer. Gaining popularity, the facility elevates the program to improve both student-athlete and fan experience. The locker room, lounge, sports medicine and strength and conditioning spaces were delivered four weeks early, giving seniors the opportunity to finish their collegiate careers in their very own facility.

Leveraging communication, positive leadership and accountability, the team created a culture of high performance and workmanship around a mindset of safe work practices. All companies involved in project, including K-State, worked together to deliver success.
