Pearl Solar is a 66.3 MWdc solar facility on 540-acres of flat terrain in Bakersfield, Texas. The project was the first to install the Sun Action Tracker single-axis design pst-1ax6 and over 200,000 Mission Solar Energy modules by Mortenson craft. The project team self-performed mechanical (piles, caissons, foundations, tracker install, PV assembly) and electrical (inverters, CAB system, module wiring, combiner and control boxes, string wiring) scopes.
Mortenson’s Civil Group and High Voltage & Transmission (HVT) Group self-performed scopes for this project as well. Civil was responsible for clearing and grubbing, installation of roads, and the storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP). HVT built the project site substation with an interconnecting voltage of 138 kVa.
