Philip joined Mortenson’s High Voltage Transmission (HVT) Group in the spring of 2012 after working 10 years for a leading electrical contractor in the intermountain west. As a native of Utah, his father’s trade of electrical contracting and his mother’s tradition of fruit farming formed the foundation of hard work and integrity that continues to guide Philip today. Philip and his wife Michelle have moved their family with four children from Minnesota to provide group leadership within the San Antonio office in 2014.
As a Project Executive, Philip is working with the San Antonio team to grow the company’s presence in the HVT market for the Texas and surrounding states. Philip’s leadership and industry expertise has contributed to the Mortenson’s HVT group’s growth and successes.
While earning two undergraduate and one master’s degree from Weber State University, Philip worked full time in the electrical industry from the field as an apprentice electrician on commercial, higher education, and federal projects into the office as an estimator, project coordinator, and project manager in the power and utility division. Philip has constructed, estimated, or managed distribution, transmission, and substation projects ranging from 12.47kV up to 500kV.
Philip is an active member of his church and volunteers in various capacities. Philip completed two years of ecclesiastical service in Argentina and is fluent in Spanish. As an Eagle Scout, Philip continues to volunteer and support within youth programs.
