As a superintendent, Tess has led the complex construction of sports and events centers across the country, including the HARBORCENTER hockey and multipurpose event center in Buffalo, NY; Fiserv Forum entertainment and sports center in Milwaukee; and Climate Pledge Arena, home of the NHL's newest team – the Seattle Kraken. She is familiar with the complex and unique components of sports facilities and how they relate to players, coaches, staff, and the user experience. Tess embodies leadership through her ability to identify what motivates people and engage with them in a way to get work done on the job site effectively. Within her role, Tess enjoys getting teams together to execute plans collectively for the success of each project. She looks forward to getting more women engaged in field roles and getting more women in leadership positions with the hope of changing industry culture for the better.

Tess graduated with a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University in 2013 before being hired as a field engineer for Mortenson in 2014.

Her dedication to showcasing ingenuity throughout daily activities, expertise in the field, and exceptional relationship-building earned her a Pinnacle Award for Exceptional People for her contribution to the Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Phoenix project in 2018. She also was awarded a Rising Young Professionals Award in 2017.

Tess maintains a competitive spirit outside work and loves challenging herself whenever possible. She enjoys endurance sports and trying to better her personal bests in running races and cross-country skiing races, and also beating her friends up hills on bike rides. In recent years, she's rediscovered her joy of reading and has made it into a competitive activity, trying to read more books than the last year. She loves following sports like track & field, college basketball, Kraken Hockey, WNBA, and NWSL and is excited to see more people getting excited about women's sports.
