The project site features many of the favorable elements for a productive wind energy facility:  high elevation, large land mass, strong wind resources and easy access. This project marks the first deployment of Acciona turbines to the U. S.

Mortenson’s scope on the project included building 30 miles of access roads, 120 turbine foundations, erection of 120 Acciona 1.5 MW wind turbines on 80-meter towers, construction of a 34.5kV/230kV substation, installation of 55 miles of 34.5kV underground electrical collection system, construction of 13 miles of overhead transmission lines, and the erection of five meteorological towers.
