Recent Minneapolis and National cost trends point to stronger growth due to the threat of tariffs. We expect stable construction activity moving forward that will support continued growth in construction costs. We recommend that owners plan for annual cost increases of 5.0% for 2018. However, if the steel tariffs never materialize, growth will likely return to a range of approximately 4.0%-4.5%.
