Mortenson Construction earlier this week topped out the 15-story Residence Inn by Marriott hotel in the Denny Triangle neighborhood at 924 Howell St., adjacent to the area where Washington State Convention Center plans a $1.6 billion expansion.
Data from the Downtown Seattle Association indicates the 302-room hotel is the second largest in Seattle's three-year hotel pipeline — behind R.C. Hedreen's 1,260-room Hyatt Regency, which is under construction about a block away at Eighth and Howell.
More than 5,000 rooms are in the pipeline.
Stonebridge Companies of Denver is developing the Marriott, which will have a 7,000-square-foot conference center, a fitness center and three levels of below-grade parking. Rooms will have kitchenettes and work areas for extended-stay travelers....
