DENVER
COMMUNITY IMPACT

Passionate about the communities we work in

Mortenson Chairman Emeritus Mort Mortenson sums it up: “There is no greater gift we can give others than our time and treasure. We do so enthusiastically, with a smile on our face and delight in our eyes.”

You can’t mandate such an eagerness to help others. It comes from the heart and is as ingrained in the company’s culture as is a desire to deliver an exceptional experience to our partners and customers. Whether it involves helping build a home, mentoring a student or business, providing food for the hungry and holiday gifts for those in need, or merely offering a helping hand or some type of expertise, Mortenson team members approach each effort, responsibly and with a strong belief that they are simply doing the right thing.

Mortenson Denver Report to the Community 2022
The annual charity golf tournament is always a favorite among our team and our industry partners, and we're so thankful for the support of our generous tournament sponsors in making this event possible. We're thrilled with this year's turnout, and for the opportunity to further CPRD’s ongoing efforts to create unity for all through movement and art.

The Denver office selected Cleo Parker Robinson (CPRD) to be its 2022 Community Impact Partner of the year! CPRD is a nonprofit dance company based in Denver’s historic Five Points neighborhood that is on a mission to infuse vitality, innovation and education into every community they touch—around the corner and around the globe. Together with sponsor contributions, Mortenson’s fundraising efforts throughout the year resulted in an $108,000 donation to CPRD.

“After such a challenging year, our mission to connect people across all races and champion social justice through art and dance has never been more vital,” said Cleo Parker Robinson, founder, artistic director, and choreographer of the 51-year-old Cleo Parker Robinson Dance. “Our partnership with Mortenson will allow us to expand our reach and bring our programming and our advocacy efforts to more people in our community. We welcomed the Mortenson leadership team at our Equity Bootcamp and are proud of the Mortenson team members that have participated as Dancing Stars in our Denver Stars gala. We deeply appreciate this partnership and continue working – and dancing – with the Mortenson team in the coming years.”

Building Community Through:

Partnership

Mortenson builds community through forging partnerships with its clients and other organizations that share our passion for making an impact. In 2020, our team volunteered over 800 hours in-person and remotely.

Education

Our signature partnerships allow us to make a tangible impact today and help prepare the workforce of tomorrow through a strategic focus on education. In 2020, we served 46 non-profits throughout Colorado.

Leadership

Mortenson is building community through the measurable impact we are making - we lead through giving our time to non-profits where we volunteer and serve on boards. In 2020, we donated $250,000 to local non-profits.

United Way

Since 1955, Mortenson's ongoing partnership with United Way has been one of the key opportunities for the company and our team members to live out our value of stewardship, teamwork and service. In Denver, we have been partnering with United Way since opening our office in 1981.

During our 2021 “Do Something Good” campaign, the Mortenson Denver team members contributed more than 300 hours of volunteer time serving a total of 11 nonprofits, including Mile High United Way, the City & County of Denver – Parks and Rec, Butterfly Pavilion, Girls, Inc., Florence Crittenton, Food Bank of the Rockies, Firefly Autism, Vitalant, Light the Night Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Transportation & Construction Girl (Hoya Foundation) and Meals on Wheels.
