Temple Israel was the first synagogue established in Minneapolis and is now one of the ten largest congregations in the United States. To meet the needs of its growing congregation, they partnered with Mortenson to replace an existing 1955 school building with a new two-story classroom wing, a lobby gathering space, and an enclosed landscaped courtyard. Space provides classrooms for preschoolers and school-age children, as well as a place for informal interaction among members of their diverse congregation.
