Kevin is a licensed professional engineer in 10 states and has been in the energy industry more than 14 years. During his tenure, he has helped design and construct over 29 gigawatt hours of energy storage projects in addition to electrical utility class substations ranging from 69kV to 500kV of both open air and GIS types. He has worked on numerous renewable energy projects ranging from 10MW to 925MW and with voltages from 120V to 500kV.

As Manager of Engineering Services, Kevin is responsible for supporting the Engineering Services group’s electrical design services for energy storage, wind, and solar collection projects. These services encompass engineering support from the earliest stages of project pursuit and selection, through preconstruction, and continuing all the way to construction completion. Kevin also oversees a team of electrical engineers who are responsible for providing engineering design, technical support, and product development.

Kevin joined Mortenson in 2017 where he was a key player in developing Engineering Services' substation design team build-out, specifically focused on protection and controls, as well as electrical / physical design. Once the substation team was established, he quickly transitioned to supporting Mortenson’s Energy Storage business and has been a key contributor to the successful growth of the team's services.

Kevin grew up in Minnesota and currently works from the Mortenson headquarters office in Minneapolis. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from South Dakota State University.

Kevin is married and has three children who keep him quite busy, whether volunteering as a youth coach or spending time with his family camping in the summer months. He also enjoys staying active in the outdoors fishing, hunting, or working on a variety of projects.
