As the Chief Estimator for the Nashville team, Vern is responsible for overall estimating standards and procedures for the company. Working closely with our Design Phase team, Vern manages Mortenson’s delivery of preconstruction services including a wide variety of estimates such as cost models, schematics, budgets, design developments, and GMPs. With insight into local pricing and trends, his experience proves invaluable in the analysis and evaluation of all components of a project’s design and construction.

Vern enjoys working with internal and external customers to ensure every customer gets the maximum value for every dollar they spend on their project. He loves to see projects that start as a “napkin sketch” idea evolve into reality and share his knowledge with his team every step of the way to help them and the project succeed.

Originally from Wisconsin, Vern and his wife Stephanie moved to Washington in 2016 and currently reside in Bothell. He has coached youth sports for the past 17 years including coaching his son’s baseball team and each of his three daughters’ softball teams.
