Vicki Schneider, P.E.

Vicki Schneider brings over 25 years of civil and structural engineering expertise to her role as Vice President of Engineering Services at Mortenson. Her career spans a wide range of sectors including electric utilities, fabrication, and EPC (Engineer-Procure-Construct) projects, with a strong foundation in both technical design and strategic leadership.

Vicki’s engineering portfolio includes extensive work on substation and transmission line projects, with voltage ranges from 34.5kV to 500kV for substations and up to 345kV for transmission lines. She is a professional engineer licensed in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, IA, KS, LA, MI, MN, MO, MT, NE, NM, ND, OH, OK, SD, TX, VA, WI, and WY. Her technical capabilities encompass all phases of design—from pursuit and estimating to route selection, PLS-CADD modeling, structural analysis, foundation design, and final construction documentation. She is highly experienced in wood and steel pole design, corona and field effects calculations, and the development of hardware assemblies and specifications. Vicki has also contributed to the structural design of commercial facilities such as hospitals, banks, hotels, and event centers.

Since joining Mortenson in 2017 as a Lead Engineer in the Fargo, ND office, Vicki has been instrumental in shaping the Engineering Services team. She was promoted to Director of Engineering in 2021 and to Vice President in 2023. Under her leadership, the team has delivered multimillion-dollar engineering projects across the U.S., supporting Mortenson’s Power and Energy Storage operating groups and enhancing the company’s Energy & Infrastructure capabilities.

Vicki is recognized not only for her technical acumen but also for her empathetic leadership style and commitment to developing talent. She is a strong advocate for cross-functional collaboration and has played a key role in integrating engineering services with broader business operations. Her deep understanding of project risk, combined with a continuous drive to improve processes and outcomes, has made her a trusted partner to clients and colleagues alike.

Outside of work, Vicki enjoys staying active and spending quality time with loved ones. She can often be found running with friends, games nights with her family, or tackling home improvement projects.
