Our annual Do Something Good campaign wrapped last month, and we’re proud to share that Mortenson’s Denver team participated in 14 different volunteer opportunities throughout the two-week campaign and contributed more than 300 hours of volunteer time.
The annual campaign partners Mortenson operating groups around the country with their local United Way chapters. This year, Mortenson increased the matching donation to United Way from $500 to $1,000 for donations made in our online system and matched up to $500 for donations employees made to other causes they care about. Mortenson also offered a volunteer match for team members. For every four hours volunteered during the campaign, the company donated $250 to United Way, up to $500. Additionally, every single team member received $10 from Mortenson to donate to a cause of their choice.
“Giving back to our communities is foundational to our culture here at Mortenson,” said Brian Fitzpatrick, vice president and general manager of Mortenson Denver. “Whether we’re volunteering around our project sites or coming together for a dedicated campaign like this, I find myself humbled by the enthusiasm and commitment of our team members to living our values of stewardship, teamwork and service.”
In all this year, Mortenson Denver team members contributed more than 300 hours of volunteer time serving a total of 11 nonprofits, including Mile High United Way, the City & County of Denver – Parks and Rec, Butterfly Pavilion, Girls, Inc., Florence Crittenton, Food Bank of the Rockies, Firefly Autism, Vitalant, Light the Night Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Transportation & Construction Girl (Hoya Foundation) and Meals on Wheels.
