Leading the way to greatness
At Mortenson, we give everyone the opportunity to be a leader, regardless of their title. Today, leaders need to show respect and empathy toward everyone by listening effectively, communicating clearly and being fully present in interactions. For me, great leadership is showing up every day and doing whatever it takes to constantly improve processes, help all team members become the most efficient and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Our culture guides us by encouraging us to do the right thing, inspire what’s possible and put our team before ourselves. Doing the right thing allows us to prioritize in a way so that we are putting the team before ourselves when making decisions. Some of the ways we’re redefining what’s possible in the wind industry is constantly challenging our team members to try out new ways of working and work smarter. The constant innovation I see coming from our team members as the technology evolves is great to see every day. The unique ways in which we make the customer experience exceptional include listening to our customers and finding solutions to make their business as successful as possible with our end product.
The biggest change I’d like to see in the world is equality for all regardless of personal attributes. Each of us can make a difference in the world if we do the right thing and keep moving toward equality for everyone. One of the things I’m most proud of is everything I’m seeing Mortenson do to be the culture all team members can succeed in.
