Associate Data Analyst

 

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking an Associate Data Analyst who will be responsible for analyzing enterprise data, developing new visual analytics tools, and identifying patterns, trends, and insights from available information systems to assist management with operational decision making, policy formulation, and other managerial functions.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand the assigned business challenge to assist in developing a performance improvement plan

  • Extract information from internal systems, industry reports, public information, field reports, and other data sources to identify correlations

  • Develop, analyze, and model operational, economic, management, and other organizational data

  • Develop new visual analytics tools, such as reports and dashboards, that provide clear information and insights and can be scaled across the company

  • Quantify the competitive performance of business segments

  • Evaluate potential operational changes

  • Consume and consolidate large amounts of data into centralized, sustainable, and repeatable measurements

  • Apply statistical, mathematical, predictive modeling and business analysis to manage and manipulate complex high-volume data from a variety of sources

  • Track trend analyses and programmatic changes that result in a growing data base of useful information

  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 

  • All other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience

  • Shown experience developing visual analytics tools in Power BI

  • Experience with programming languages, specifically Python, SQL, and DAX

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint

  • Experience developing visual analytics tools, including automated data feeds and back-end integrations

  • Ability to think analytically with great attention to detail

  • Show ability to follow complex instructions

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback

The base pay range for this role is $58,100 - $78,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
