SUMMARY
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist will support the execution of Mortenson’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Events: Support execution of events, including learning and development programming, recruiting, company-wide programs and others. This work will include collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and require the ability to manage a project.
Talent Acquisition: Collaborate with Talent Acquisition in the execution of conferences to attract talent.
Communications: Support communications, including drafting of internal and external communications and preparation of presentations.
Tools and Resources: Update and maintain the intranet page, resource library and toolkits
Champions and Business Resource Groups: Support manager in oversight of DEI Champions or “ambassadors” and Business Resource Groups including facilitation of quarterly meetings and best practice sharing.
Learning and Development: Collaborate with L&D team to establish DEI related content and support learning needs of team members.
Partnerships: Support external partnerships and programs.
Research: Conduct research to support benchmarking and best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Minimum two (2) years recruiting, HR, or Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experience
Previous experience in construction and contracting preferred
Three years of related Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experience preferred. Note – experience may include development and execution of learning and development content, conference and event management, talent acquisition and talent management, mentorship programs, business resource groups.
Communication and Collaboration – Ability to work with others to drive alignment, share and obtain insights and move things forward with strong teamwork orientation. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback. Strong, written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to interact with a diverse population and build relationships quickly.
Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this role is $68,200 - $92,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
