Women in Construction (WIC) Week, organized by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), recognizes women as a viable component of the construction industry. It also highlights the opportunities available for women in the industry and emphasizes the growing role of women in construction.

In celebration of WIC Week, Brennetta Harris, Estimator at Mortenson spoke with students at Anwatin Middle School on career opportunities in construction. “You have to set your own path,” said Harris to the 6th through 8th grade students in attendance. “Identify what you want your career to be and make a plan to achieve it.”

Harris shared her journey to becoming an estimator at Mortenson and the leadership opportunities she has in her role. “You may have some road blocks along the way but make adjustments,” she encouraged. “You never know where your path will take you but keep pursuing your goals.”
