Mortenson recently hosted their fourth annual Flavor event. The company-wide, two-day Flavor Event facilitates, celebrates, and creates meaningful connections between Mortenso's People of Color and senior leadership. It is a focused time to reinforce Mortenson's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, using education, collaboration, and thoughtful dialogue to drive engagement.
Some highlights from the 2022 event, centered around Leading Through Change.
Team members had the opportunity to tour Mortenson facilities in the Minneapolis area, engage with other team members from groups nationwide and participate in panels to discuss change, leadership, and the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
Another highlight from the event was the keynote, Wajahat Ali, author of Go Back Where You Came From.
In 2022, Mortenson launched our formalized Business Resource Groups. Mortenson's Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are team member-led associations that promote cultural diversity, professional development, and networking opportunities for underrepresented groups. BRGs elevate the profile of equity and inclusion throughout our organization, pave pathways to leadership exposure and create a safe and exceptional experience for all team members. At the event, team members were exposed to the opportunity to further engage in these Business Resource Groups:
Asian American Pacific Islander BRG
Black BRG
Building With Pride BRG
Development BRG
Latino Unidos BRG
MOSAIC BRG
Veteran BRG
Women's BRG
