In honor of Black History Month, the City of Minneapolis Civil Rights Department sponsored History Makers at Home, a profile series featuring African American leaders from across Minnesota. 
 
Featured this week is Lynn Littlejohn, Vice President of Community Affairs and Development at Mortenson. Lynn is responsible for promoting Mortenson in new and existing markets by providing guidance in business development, workforce development, and designing and implementing progressive community engagement plans for the employment of women and people of color.  

As an African American woman working in a white, male-dominated industry, Lynn was drawn to Mortenson because they share her desire to be a proactive steward of the community. “The Mortenson family and leadership here saw the value in my vision and what it could do for those in our community. What sets us apart is our commitment that goes beyond just achieving goals. What we’re doing is transforming lives. From helping employers grow their businesses to helping residents and workers become economically self-sufficient – it’s about creating systemic change, not just hitting goals and targets.”
