Our Washington DC office is proud to volunteer time with the ACE (Architecture. Construction. Engineering.) Mentorship Program which helps mentor and inspire high school students to pursue careers in design and construction. Two of the women in the office, Kendra Lyons (Safety Manager) and Laura Wake-Ramos (Project Engineer), are both active volunteers with ACE. In addition to mentoring students interested in the construction industry, the program allows them the chance to meet other women active in the industry. One of these women, Lynura Jackson, is the Deputy Director of Extending Learning and the Friendship Public Charter Schools. Over time Kendra and Laura learned more about Lynura’s career in the field and took some time to sit down with her to discuss her thoughts about being a fellow woman in the construction industry.
