What does new construction and renovation on an airfield look like?
This large multi-site design-build project involved 176,000 square feet of new construction and renovation at several locations in the South Airfield area of Fort Riley. The project scope included the construction of a 58,500 square foot helicopter maintenance hangar and major additions to three administrative buildings, including the construction of a sensitive compartmented information facility (SCIF). In addition to this new construction, there was a significant amount of remodeling done to two battalion headquarters buildings and two company operations facilities. The project also included associated site work and utilities. The project was designed and built to USGBC LEED Silver criteria and complied with the Department of Defense Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements.
