What does the construction of a communication tower for the Coast Guard involve?
This DBIA-award winning project involved the design and construction of a four-story U.S. Coast Guard Sector Headquarters building at Ellington Field North in Houston, TX, with offices for logistics administration, command cadre, investigative units, and intelligence analysts. Built for the USCG Sector Houston-Galveston, the 117,000 SF headquarters also has an armory, training and conference areas, fitness and weight training facilities, locker rooms, sleeping quarters, a dining facility with full-service kitchen/server, and a medical and dental clinic. The multi-phase project scope also included site demolition and clearing, sidewalks, parking lot, site utilities, stormwater drainage, the construction of a 200-foot freestanding communication tower, and the transformation of the existing Galena Park Sector Building site into a recreational area.
