The Lewis Main Exchange Addition and Modernization consisted of adding 160,000 square feet of retail space to the existing facility. Construction took place while maintaining full public access to the shopping center. The goals of the project included creating facilities to meet the needs of the servicemen and women who are housed at JBLM and updating the site layout and building to meet current UFC Anti-Terrorism and Forced Protection (AT/FP) requirements. The project also incorporated a new food court design, providing comfortable interior and exterior gathering areas for troops.
