As the Lead Civil/Structural and Physical Engineer with Engineering Services, Chance focuses on developing and coordinating Mortenson Engineering's effort to align with our partners in Power, Wind, Solar, and Energy Storage. He works with project design teams to develop a high quality project set for the field to construct. Chance coordinates directly with Mortenson Engineering’s partners to optimize designs and construction to streamline Mortenson's effort. He also oversees the physical and structural design of the substations.

Chance has been in the power delivery industry for nine years working with substation voltage classes ranging from 4kV-500kV. He is involved in the initial estimation effort through the entire construction process. Chance has acted as the Engineer of Record on multiple substations and is currently licensed in eight states. He has worked as a field engineer on multiple substation projects and was a material tester before starting with his design experience.
