Building an unbreakable team spirit
Great leaders are engaged with their teams on every level. They create such strong alignment behind a shared vision that everyone is ready to go to bat for the team. When we do a good job of making sure all the team members understand their part in a project’s vision and are engaged throughout the project process, we can guarantee better outcomes.
Fostering a culture of innovation
The best opportunity for our industry right now lies in bringing fresh ideas into the mix, and one of the best ways to do that is by creating a culture where everyone’s voices are heard. At Mortenson, we value collaboration and encourage thinking outside of the status quo. That’s how we’re innovating in areas like modularization and prefabrication, creating projects that look fantastic and are constructed with greater efficiency. That’s how we’re streamlining the development/design/build model and bringing new projects to the market faster.
Creating our own destiny
Mortenson’s development group provides our company, our customers and our partners with so many new paths to success. As we continue to incorporate development into the design-build model, we get a better grasp on our supply chain, and are better able to control quality throughout the project process, saving the project cost and schedule without sacrificing outcomes.
PERSONAL PASSIONS
I am passionate about taking a creative approach to complex challenges to craft innovative deal structures that benefit all parties involved. The focus is on building deep, long-term client relationships by understanding their unique goals and exceeding expectations. Mentorship is also a passion, helping develop skills of other team members and helping them find a creative edge. This combination of deal-making and mentorship allows for the delivery of exceptional value while fostering growth.
INTERESTS
- Mountain Biking - as a lifetime mountain biker and former racer, I am truly in my happy place suffering through a long climb and descending through groves of Aspen trees. The fall is the best time of year for mountain biking here in Colorado and I am often drawn into the woods for hours at a time.
- Skiing - having grown up in the Northeast and then staring my career in Aspen, Colorado, skiing has always been a lifetime passion of mine. My enthusiasm for skiing has fortunately been passed down to both of my kids so spending time on the mountain has been a place where my family can truly enjoy time together.
- Architecture and Design - as a former architect, I am still very interested in how design can be used to create spaces that foster connection, belonging and community. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing people come together in a thoughtfully crafted environment.
