Corporate and Licensing Specialist

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Corporate and Licensing Specialist that will oversee the company’s professional licensing program, including contractor and business license renewals, tracking company and qualifying individual licenses, and ensuring compliance with licensing laws and regulations in all relevant jurisdictions. Oversee and manage the company’s corporate entity registrations, including new formations, qualifications and renewals and assist attorneys with corporate governance matters generally. Interact with all levels of the company and serve as point of contact for corporate and regulatory matters as it relates to registration, licensing and governance matters. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Application Management: File, manage and track applications for new business licenses, exams, and renewals, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Licensing Research: Research business licensing requirements for construction projects for various scopes of work and company activities across U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Qualifying Party / Responsible Managing Employee Support: Provide support to individual license holders and responsible managing employees linked to company’s licenses.
  • Corporate Filings and Registrations: File, manage and maintain timely and accurate corporate registrations, renewals and qualifications and support Legal team on corporate governance and filings. Provide support to corporate secretary functions, including corporate records and governance, as required.
  • Expertise and Guidance: Serve as the point of contact for business licensing and corporate entity support to operating groups and the Legal team and provide guidance regarding licensing and corporate registrations.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • All other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of work experience in a law firm, an in-house legal department or comparable experience
  • Experience with government filings and knowledge of the construction industry preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion 
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to be flexible as needed
  • Experience interacting with government agencies and navigating government processes
  • Adaptive, effective communication and active listening skills
  • Positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory functions and processes 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint and Power Point

The base pay range for this role is $68,700 - $103,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). If applicable: This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
