Lead Systems Analyst
SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-based data and analytics platform. Your primary focus will be leveraging Microsoft Fabric and related tools including Informatica, FiveTran, and SSIS to create robust data pipelines and end-to-end data solutions that automate workflows, build applications, and provide deep business intelligence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
Design, develop, and manage scalable and reliable data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric to ingest, transform, and load data from various source systems (both on-premises and cloud)
Architect and implement data integration solutions using the Fabric ecosystem, Informatica or FiveTran, including data flows, copy activities, and orchestration
Develop and optimize data transformation logic within Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2 in Fabric
Manage and orchestrate data workflows within the Fabric platform, ensuring efficient and timely data processing
Implement and manage OneLake as the unified, single logical data lake for the organization
Process Automation & Application Development
Automate repetitive business processes and data workflows using Power Automate, integrating various data sources and applications (e.g., SharePoint, Outlook, Excel)
Design, build, and deploy custom canvas and model-driven apps using Power Apps to enable business users to interact with and act upon data
Create seamless end-to-end solutions by connecting Power Apps and Power Automate flows to data residing in Microsoft Fabric and other corporate systems
Collaboration & Best Practices
Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and other IT teams to understand requirements and deliver high-impact solutions
Enforce best practices for data governance, security, and performance tuning across the Power Platform and Fabric landscape
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Business Intelligence
Develop interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards using Power BI to translate complex data into actionable insights for business stakeholders
Design and build scalable Power BI data models, write efficient DAX calculations, and implement row-level security (RLS)
Connect Power BI reports directly to data sources within the Microsoft Fabric environment, including Data Warehouses and Lakehouses
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred
7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a similar role
Demonstrate expertise in Microsoft Fabric, with hands-on experience building and managing data pipelines using tools such as Informatica, SSIS, and FiveTran
Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report development
Experience with Power Automate for creating cloud flows and automating business processes
Hands-on experience with Power Apps for building custom applications
Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on multiple complex projects

The base pay range for this role is $121,600 - $182,400. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
