Payroll Administrator

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator who will provide timely and accurate processing of multi-state payroll transactions. 

 
KEY RESULT AREAS (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
  1. Responsible for review and reconciliation of project timecards prior to weekly pay run
  2. Prepare and review weekly payroll including data entry of payroll information and associated reporting, as needed
  3. Prepare daily off-cycle checks which may include retroactive pay as needed
  4. Research and resolve payroll inquiries from team members via phone or email
  5. Payroll team member liaison for Mortenson Project teams.
  6. Complete unemployment earnings requests
  7. Set-up, salary and pay related updates, and termination of craft payroll team members
  8. Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  9. Additional payroll duties which include activities such as union reporting and reconciliation, completing garnishments, and updating child support
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  1. Positive, professional attitude and excellent customer service skills
  2. Ability to follow processes with a high degree of accuracy and be able to identify and implement ongoing process improvements
  3. Detail oriented with excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  4. Experience with multi-local and foreign payrolls desired
  5. Ability to collaborate effectively and support training of Payroll associates
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  7. Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  1. Associates degree required; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  2. Minimum two years payroll experience in a multi-state environment
  3. Oracle payroll or ADP knowledge a preference
  4. Working knowledge of Oracle accounting packages and Microsoft Office suite a plus
  5. CPP certification a plus
  6. Experience working with unions desired

The base pay range for this role is $30.77 - $41.49.  This position is located in the Minneapolis, MN office. 

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
