SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently seeking a Carpenter Foreman that will provide oversight to project carpentry crews and coordinate, implement and supervise all self-performed concrete work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan work and create an integrated work plan communicated to, and understood by, the crew
- Ensure safe production using the proper resources (tools, equipment, working conditions)
- Lead the quality program for responsible scopes of work including quality control inspections for installed work prior to special inspections
- Plan for and manage tool and equipment inventories
- Develop a system to ensure tools are cared for and monitor craft team members for misuse or abuse
- Determine sequence of fabrication, assembly, and erection activities; assign tasks to workers
- Perform concrete and rough carpentry (hand set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, slabs, columns)
- Monitor both current and to-date production compared to estimate
- Identify opportunities for improvement relative to efficiencies
- Utilize innovative means and methods to complete work
- Lead team members by example, offer coaching and feedback, build relationships with diverse individuals, and perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED
- Completion of apprenticeship program
- Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, read plans, and operate equipment (table saws, radial arm saws, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection equipment, rigging, and form systems)
- Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication including active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback
- Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
