Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Senior Scheduler I or II to join our Solar group with the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Senior Scheduling Engineer will provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate site teams and trade partners in developing project schedules using CPM scheduling programs
Support group leadership by monitoring and updating project schedules on multiple or larger projects
Explore mitigation options and assist site management in formulating mitigation plans for scheduling problems
Lead or instruct less experienced individuals in planning and scheduling concepts
Collaborate with Business Development on proposals, leading project pursuit strategy regarding schedules
Participate in corporate planning and scheduling improvement initiatives and best practice sharing
Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities
Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities
Ensure that corporate planning and schedule stands are implemented and that all project related activities comply
Provide oversight and supervision of scheduling team
Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents
Establish and nurture teamwork environment
Ensure crews have resources and support
Provide work direction and performance evaluations
Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions if needed
Develop leadership potential through appropriate task assignments and career growth opportunities
Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at project site
Manage open shop and union issues
Maintain relationships with all visitors to the site: customers, architects, union representatives, subcontractors, et al.
Manage site work and logistics efficiently, providing suggestions for improvement
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent field
Experience with Asta Power Project, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project (Asta highly preferred)
Basic knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software
Basic knowledge of standard construction practices, project sequencing, project management, contracts, and buyout
Ability to exercise creativity and mature judgment in solving problems
Basic plan and specification reading, review, and interpretation skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional, collaborative, team-based environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with initiative to seek innovative solutions
Results-oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services
Active listening skills and effective communication, open to diverse input and feedback
Ability to travel may be required based on operating group
Working knowledge of 4D visual planning methodologies
Senior Scheduler I
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of four years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience as a project engineer is desirable
The base pay range for this role is $102,000 - $137,700
Senior Scheduler II
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of six years construction experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
Experience as an assistant project manager or assistant superintendent is desirable
The base pay range for this role is $107,200 - $160,800
(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
