Max Dunlay is a Project Manager at Mortenson specializing in complex healthcare construction and infrastructure work in active environments. Since entering the industry in 2013, he has partnered with owners, project teams, and trade partners to coordinate critical systems, navigate field challenges, and deliver safe, efficient outcomes through practical problem-solving and strong relationships.

Current role responsibilities:

Max leads and supports complex project delivery by coordinating teams, reviewing drawings, managing subcontractors and trade partners, aligning schedules, and resolving field issues. He brings people together around clear priorities so work can progress safely and efficiently, especially where construction must be carefully integrated with ongoing healthcare operations. 

Healthcare and technical expertise: His experience includes coordinating construction and infrastructure upgrades involving critical medical-facility systems. His work requires disciplined planning, clear communication, coordination of system testing and commissioning, turnover readiness, and close collaboration with owner representatives and technical partners.

Collaboration and leadership: Max believes the strongest solutions come from mutual respect and the combined expertise of owners, designers, builders, and trade partners. He especially enjoys working alongside trade partners to solve problems and is committed to mentoring future construction professionals and helping project teams continue to learn and grow.

Outside of work, Max pursues activities that reflect the same curiosity, perseverance, and sense of adventure he brings to project challenges. His hobbies include: ultramarathoning, motorcycle riding, and international travel. Looking ahead, Max is energized by evolving construction technology and the next generation of talent shaping the industry.
