WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION
CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF WIC WEEK
Many Paths, One Mission: WIC Week March 6-10
Now celebrating 25 years, Women in Construction (WIC) Week is an opportunity to promote real parity for women in the construction industry. During this week we focus on the role we play in supporting and advancing women and empowering them to continue to grow their careers in the industry. From career mapping to skills development, we provide advancement opportunities as part of our ongoing efforts to diversify the construction workforce.
We have identified daily themes to help us celebrate the week, cultivate conversations and provide resources for our women in construction and the allies who support them.
- Day 1 - Allyship
- Day 2 - Mentorship
- Day 3 - Jobsite Culture
- Day 4 - Building a Network
- Day 5 - Community Engagement
The overall theme for WIC Week this year is 'Many Paths, One Mission.' It celebrates the different journeys women have taken toward the same goal: strengthening and amplifying the success of women in the construction industry. Each year we host an annual women's event to empower our female team members and work toward removing the barriers faced by women in construction. Together, we can create a future for all that is open, equitable and overflowing with potential.

Mighty are the Women
“Mighty are the women!” – the mantra of the University of Washington’s Softball Program was central to the attitude of the women managing the build of UW’s Softball Performance Center. This female-led team empowered women on the jobsite, engaged the community, and exceeded goals by awarding 41% of contracts to local WMBE firms.
Women at Work
Their numbers are still small, but an increasing number of women are finding their career paths and thriving in the construction trades. Construction companies are finding that these tradeswomen offer new perspectives and unique skill sets to a historically male-dominated industry.
Women Building the Cloud
