Empowering the Future: Mortenson Denver's Annual Women in Construction Week Celebration

WIC Week Event Denver 2024

Mortenson Denver proudly hosted our annual Women in Construction Week (WIC Week) event on March 7 at Empower Field at Mile High to celebrate the pivotal role that women play in the construction industry. This year’s event aligned with the National Association of Women in Construction's (NAWIC) 2024 theme, "Keys to the Future," aiming to encourage and empower women and their allies in the industry.

This year’s event brought together hundreds of women and their allies in the architecture, engineering and construction (A/E/C) fields for networking and dialogue around the importance of cultivating a culture of mutual support and empowerment to ensure all who enter our industry see a meaningful career path here.

To support the next generation of strong girls and women, Mortenson donated $6,000 to Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, an organization dedicated to building strong, smart, and bold leaders through direct service and advocacy for girls. Girls Inc. delivers research-based programming, fostering the holistic development of girls ages 6-20 in a supportive environment.

Additionally, a portion of this year’s funds from sponsorships will go to students currently enrolled in construction careers. Over 20 students from in-state universities including Colorado State University, University of Colorado Boulder and University of Colorado Denver were able to attend the event.

Our Denver leadership team was honored to network with women from various sectors to  celebrate the incredible achievements of women and their allies in the industry. Together, we are building a more inclusive future for the industry.
