Jim Yowan is a master builder. He personifies all the qualities necessary in a Mortenson leader: tenacity, innovation, and persistence; a constant belief that we can accomplish anything; and he demonstrates Mortenson's values every day.
Dan Johnson, President and CEO
Jim joined Mortenson in 1990 and currently serves as senior vice president. He is responsible for Mortenson's Pacific Northwest and Solar operations and is a member of the Company’s senior leadership team. Jim also provides leadership to many of Mortenson's foundational business operations such as safety, quality and energy services.
Jim has served in several leadership roles within Mortenson. Most recently he led Mortenson's Seattle business, including our entry into the Portland market and the expansion of Mortenson's water/wastewater business. Previously Jim led our National Projects group and our operations in Northern Ireland.
Jim has also been active in the communities in which he lives and works, such as serving as president of the DBIA Northwest Region and as a board member of the Seattle Sports Commission, United Way and The Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County.
The many projects which Jim has been involved with include:
