BLUvera, Mortenson’s vertically integrated manufacturing and fabrication affiliate, utilizes advanced design, engineering, 3D modeling, and manufacturing to deliver a safer, faster, and more predictable experience to the built environment. Responsibilities

Summary: 

By utilizing DfMA principles (design for manufacturing and assembly), BLUvera leverages technology in the manufacture and fabrication of off-site construction products- enabling our customers to realize the schedule and cost savings that the industrialized process creates. The BLUvera team continually enhances offerings in prefabricated scopes of work that drive value for Mortenson as a whole. Highlights of your work as an intern with this team will include: 

  • Developing, evaluating, and improving the manufacturing process through documents change 

  • Assisting with developing and implementing process control techniques and procedures  

  • Analysis of the manufacturing process flow for improvements in safety, quality, and cost 

  • Collaboration with plant team members regarding product tooling and design to ensure effective production methods 

  • Exposure to design and development of manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products that are consistent with a zero-defect level and low production cost.

Qualifications

Qualifications 

We look forward to hearing from you if you: 

  • Are currently pursuing an undergraduate, four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field 

  • Possess the right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer   

  • Have experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel 

  • Demonstrate strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem-solving skills 

  • Have proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills 

  • Are detail-oriented, organized, and can effectively manage multiple tasks 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Have achieved a minimum overall GPA of 3.0/4.0 

Additional Information:   

You will join an exciting and ever-changing industry with a minimum 12-week internship with our team. This opportunity is full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer of 2023. The internship is based at of our BLUvera plant in DeKalb, Illinois.
