SUMMARY  

The Electrical Engineer II - BLUvera provides dedicated electrical engineering support for all BLUvera initiatives, with a primary focus on auxiliary power skid systems. This role is embedded within the Mortenson Engineering Services' innovation team to maintain alignment with MES engineering standards, design quality, and governance, while supporting BLUvera’s fast‑paced manufacturing and product development environment.

 

The position reports directly to the Innovation Lead for functional oversight and standards alignment, with day‑to‑day direction provided by the BLUvera team. This structure ensures consistent engineering rigor while enabling real‑time collaboration with BLUvera manufacturing, operations, and product teams.

 

This role is critical to ensure BLUvera’s electrical products — particularly auxiliary power skids — are developed with strong engineering fundamentals, aligned with MES standards, and continuously improved as BLUvera scales its manufacturing and product offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

Electrical Engineering Support

  • Provide electrical engineering support across all BLUvera endeavors, with a primary emphasis on auxiliary power skid design, development, and refinement.
  • Support electrical system layouts, component selection, and design coordination to ensure constructability, safety, and quality.
  • Apply engineering judgment to evolving product designs in a manufacturing and innovation environment.

 

Innovation & Standards Alignment

  • Maintain alignment with MES electrical design standards, quality expectations, and documentation practices.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance design efficiency, reliability, and value.
  • Balance innovation speed with engineering rigor and long‑term scalability.

 

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work closely with BLUvera manufacturing, operations, and product teams on a daily basis.
  • Support cross‑functional coordination between Innovation, MES engineering resources, and BLUvera stakeholders.
  • Contribute to lessons learned, design evolution, and product maturity efforts.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Long‑term goal to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license in electrical design
  • Ability to travel as required to support BLUvera initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, balancing immediate design needs with long‑term product and business objectives
  • Demonstrated mindset toward value‑added solutions and continuous improvement

 

Preferred:

  • Experience or knowledge in auxiliary power skid design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor for equipment and skid‑based systems

 

 

The base pay range for this role is $91,700 – 123,800 (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). 

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
