Director of Talent Acquisition

SUMMARY 

Mortenson is currently seeking a Director of Talent Acquisition responsible for shaping and executing enterprise-wide talent acquisition strategy for experienced, craft and college ultimately, driving business growth. Serve as a brand ambassador and thought leader within Mortenson and across external markets. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of talent acquisition professionals, ensuring alignment with company objectives and evolving industry best practices.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with executive and business leaders to translate business strategy into enterprise talent acquisition strategy and programs

  • Design and implement innovative sourcing strategies to build strong candidate pipelines

  • Oversee efficient, data-driven, end-to-end recruiting processes including sourcing, screening, selection and negotiation

  • Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience and regulatory compliance

  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to ensure seamless hiring and onboarding transitions

  • Oversee relationships between talent acquisition and all business groups

  • Lead and implement recruitment marketing strategies to enhance Mortenson’s employment brand and external talent presence

  • Advise leaders on offer strategy and negotiations as needed

  • Partner with marketing and internal teams to develop compelling recruiting materials

  • Set, communicate, and benchmark talent acquisition performance metrics

  • Build strong relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels

  • Lead, coach, and develop talent acquisition team members

  • Develop a continuous improvement strategy to create efficiencies for processes

  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field

  • Minimum ten years of recruiting or HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing teams of HR professionals 

  • Proven ability to drive and execute organizational strategy 

  • Strong influencing skills across diverse business units and functional areas

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities

  • Exceptional ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships 

  • Professional customer service orientation and positive attitude

  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills

  • Deep understanding of talent acquisition best practices

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this role is $149,100 - $223,700. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
