Summary
Mortenson is looking for a Finance Compliance Supervisor who will manage daily finance compliance activities for federal prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements, including Davis-Bacon and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), supporting union and non-union work across multiple states in the energy sector.
Responsibilities
- Lead team members, by example, including work allocation, training, and effective coaching and feedback
- Review contract requirements and ensure compliant project setup and administration
- Serve as a point of contact for project teams on prevailing wage compliance questions
- Ensure customer reports are accurate and on time
- Maintain complete and organized documentation
- Support customer, and third‑party audits by providing requested records and explanations
- Assist project leaders in addressing non-compliance issues, particularly regarding journeyman-to-apprentice ratios.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and documentation practices
- Maintain and update training and reference materials related to prevailing wage and IRA requirements
- Support the review of subcontractor fringe benefits and related compliance documentation
- Communicate compliance requirements and resolve routine issues with internal stakeholders
- Escalate complex or high‑risk matters to management
- Participate in and lead initiatives as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Minimum seven years related experience
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP accounting systems
- Experience with prevailing wages or Inflation Reduction Act tax credits is preferred
- Experience with LCP Tracker is preferred
- Working knowledge of regulatory compliance concepts
- Ability to apply labor and tax regulations to operational processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to supervise work, provide guidance, and prioritize daily tasks
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured, deadline‑driven environment
- Demonstrated integrity and sound judgment

The base pay range for this role is $103,200 - $134,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
