Leadership and Organizational Development Coordinator

SUMMARY 

Over the past several years, our Leadership and Organizational Development (LOD) team has built a strong, integrated system of leadership programs, tools, and learning experiences aligned with Mortenson’s culture and business strategy. As this system has grown in scale and complexity, so has the need for focused coordination, consistency, and operational excellence.


We are now looking for a Leadership & Organizational Development Coordinator to provide centralized coordination and execution support across leadership, culture, and organizational development initiatives. This role will lead the critical work or ensuring programs run smoothly, experiences are well orchestrated, and data and logistics are handled with care. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys learning quickly, brings a strong customer service mindset, excels at bringing order to complexity, and supporting programs that are actively evolving and scaling.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program & Logistics Coordination

    • Coordinate planning, scheduling, and logistics for leadership and organizational development programs, including in person, virtual, and hybrid experiences.

    • Coordinate venue procurement, contracting, and logistics for all programs, including site selection, vendor communication, contracting, and onsite arrangements.

    • Support day-of event and venue logistics, meeting links, room set up, materials preparation and distribution, and in session support for facilitation teams. 

    • Serve as a consistent point of contact for participants, facilitators, coaches, and stakeholders, ensuring clear expectations and smooth execution.

  • Program Operations & Participant Experience

    • Support program management activities such as tracking participant metrics, group assignments, registrations, and completion monitoring to support reporting and continuous improvement.

    • Coordinate assessments, surveys, and feedback processes, including summarizing data themes to inform program improvement and impact. 

    • Serve as a reliable, go-to resource for participants and internal partners throughout the program lifecycle. 

  • Communication & Content Support

    • Draft and distribute standard program communications (prework, logistics, reminders, follow-ups) in partnership with LOD team members.

    • Support preparation of learning materials, toolkits, guides, presentations, and digital resources.

    • Assist with maintaining LOD content sites and shared resources (e.g., SharePoint, internal platforms) to ensure materials are current, organized, and easy to access.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience in program coordination, learning & development, HR, or a related support role, ideally in a fast-paced or scaling environment. 

  • Customer focused, service-oriented mindset, with a high degree of reliability, responsiveness, and care for the participant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and navigate complex programs, systems, and processes, with a track record of ramping up efficiently.

  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills, including managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and details with accuracy and followthrough.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience communicating with diverse audiences and stakeholders. 

  • Comfort working with data, surveys, and tracking metrics to support reporting, insights, and continuous improvement.

  • Proactive problem-solving mindset, able to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and propose solutions in dynamic situations. 

  • Excels in communication, data visualization and storytelling for various audiences.

  • Strong technology fluency, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, collaboration tools, and willingness to adopt new platforms quickly.

  • Experience supporting leadership development, organizational development, or learning programs, especially those that have scaled or evolved rapidly.

  • Exposure to or involvement in program growth, process improvement, or operational scaling efforts.

  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, survey tools, and enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle, SharePoint, Microsoft Suite).

  • Track record of contributing to operational excellence and participant experience in complex program settings.

  • Ability to work effectively across teams and functions, building relationships and facilitating collaboration.

The base pay range for this role is $55,400 - $74,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

 

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.  This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
