SUMMARY
BLU54 is currently seeking a Buyer I that will be responsible for working with project teams and suppliers to purchase materials, supplies, equipment and services. This project role focuses on purchasing, logistics and schedule coordination, supplier relationships, and financial reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery time
Negotiate and prepare purchase agreements and purchase orders. Ensure suppliers adhere to contractual terms and conditions, including timeliness and quality standards
Work with manager to propose procurement solutions that deliver value and reduce risk
Create and maintain procurement logs
Analyze individual markets, handle budget and increase margin on a regular basis, track trends in purchasing habits \
Track order status from time of placing order until delivery and communicate status to project teams
Visit project site to better understand project team challenges and develop streamlined procurement processes to be implemented
Lead special projects for team as requested
Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

The base pay range for this role is $68,700 - $92,800. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
