The new 11-story public service building consolidates employees located at various sites throughout the City of Minneapolis. A driving force for this project was to improve access to services for residents and customers. In conjunction with the existing City Hall, it creates a centralized campus to meet the City’s office space needs downtown. The first and second floors will house public spaces where the City can deliver services, floors 3-9 will include employee office spaces, and the tenth floor will provide employee common spaces, including outdoor spaces and a green roof. The City plans to achieve LEED Gold certification, as well as incorporate aspects of the Living Building Challenge.
