Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital opened its door last month to more than 100 beds. Last week Washington Governor, Jay Inslee visited the facility for the honorary ribbon cutting ceremony in hopes to bring attention and raise awareness of the behavioral health needs in the area.

Located in Marysville, the 70,000 square-foot facility will provide specialized psychiatric care and substance abuse services for both inpatient and outpatient care. Governor Inslee signed a two-year $43 billion operating budget for the state that will contain more than $317 million in funding for changes to be integrated. Inslee said it’s a joy to know hundreds of Washingtonians will be able to seek the needed care to get better because of US Healthvest’s hospital.

The facility is unique, featuring anti-ligature doors, hardware, bathroom fixtures, light fixtures and sprinkler heads. It features an indoor and outdoor recreational area. The project was turned over to the customer 5 weeks ahead of schedule allowing patients to move in sooner than expected.
