Mortenson is currently delivering critical infrastructure improvements for the Molson Coors Brewery, a key distribution hub for the full range of Coors products across the region. This active project includes more than 40,000 square feet of concrete paving immediately adjacent to the truck dock bays that serve the brewery’s beverage operations. In addition to the exterior paving, the scope includes replacement of interior concrete aprons, dock levelers, and dock doors – modernizing the facility’s logistics infrastructure while supporting uninterrupted brewery operations.

One of the project’s most complex challenges involved the replacement of elevated concrete decks situated above an active private rail line. Through close coordination with rail operators and brewery stakeholders, Mortenson temporarily shut down the line to safely complete the elevated deck work without long-term operational impact.

To maintain continuity for Molson Coors' 24/7 operations, the project team implemented a detailed, multi-phased approach – completing the work across more than 30 carefully sequenced phases. The renovation of more than 50 dock bays was executed in increments of five bays at a time, limiting downtime while maintaining access for daily logistics.

Mortenson’s disruption avoidance policy guided all planning and execution efforts, emphasizing proactive communication, worker safety, and schedule adherence. Just-in-time material delivery strategies were employed to minimize onsite storage, and regular stakeholder check-ins helped align progress with brewery needs. This project reflects the strong collaboration between Mortenson and Molson Coors, highlighting the team's shared commitment to safety, precision, and operational continuity in a highly active industrial environment.
