Justin Riley
Field Operations Manager
Changing the industry as a whole is a huge opportunity for us. Mortenson empowers me to be innovative and constantly seek improvements. I enjoy this challenging work because it gives me the chance to make things better for everyone in our industry.
We serve the craft
The craft professionals are the ones who build our projects, and it’s our responsibility to clear the path so they can do their work safely, efficiently and with ease. Our focus should always be on people and the craft—supporting them, removing obstacles and making sure they have what they need to succeed. When we put our teams first, we set the foundation for every project’s success.
We are better together
As a leader, I believe it’s about “we” rather than “I.” It’s essential to be inclusive and make sure every team member feels valued and heard. When we bring people together, we not only reduce challenges and misunderstandings, but we also create opportunities to celebrate our shared accomplishments. By working as one team, we build stronger relationships and deliver better results for everyone involved.
Leadership shapes culture through respect
When we lead with respect, we create a sense of stability for our teams. That foundation of respect and stability inspires a genuine desire for total participation—everyone feels encouraged to contribute and be part of the process. When respect, stability and participation come together, we build an amazing culture where people feel valued, engaged and motivated to do their best work. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to set this tone and help our teams thrive.
