Robin Strom
Senior Community Empowerment Manager | Seattle
Robin Strom brings years of construction industry experience and a lifelong commitment to community empowerment to her role at Mortenson, advancing inclusive, equitable outcomes across complex projects. Known for her advocacy and relationship driven approach, Robin focuses on creating meaningful opportunities for small businesses, emerging firms, and individuals who are seeking access to work on major construction projects. At the core of her work is a belief that the industry has the power to break down barriers, build long term careers, and positively impact communities far beyond the jobsite.
Throughout her career, Robin has been a strong champion for supplier and workforce development and compliance excellence. She finds the greatest fulfillment in helping small businesses secure their first contracts and supporting apprentices as they grow their skills. For Robin, success is measured not only by project delivery, but by the people and businesses who are empowered along the way. She is passionate about building relationships rooted in trust and creating pathways for individuals who have not always had access to opportunities in the construction space.
Robin holds a Construction Management Certificate from the University of Washington and multiple advanced compliance credentials from Morgan State University, including Certified Compliance Administrator (CCA), Master Compliance Administrator (MCA), and Executive Certified Master Compliance Administrator (ECMCA). Her active roles in both industry and community leadership have also contributed to her expertise. She currently serves on several boards and councils, including the Capital Projects Advisory Review Board, Northwest Mountain Minority Supplier Development Board, King County Priority Hire Advisory Committee, NW DBIA SBE & Growth Committee, and the University of Washington Ascend Council. Through these roles, Robin helps shape policies, programs, and initiatives that strengthen industry partnerships.
Outside of work, Robin is a proud soccer mom who enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. Whether hiking local trails or heading out on a family camping trip, she values time spent connecting with nature and those closest to her. Looking ahead, Robin is most excited about continuing to create access, build meaningful relationships, and watch people succeed in spaces where opportunity once felt out of reach.
