Scott is a licensed Engineer in Minnesota. His expertise is focused on power system protective relaying for voltage classes ranging from 4 kV to 500 kV. Scott has led transmission and distribution projects, serving investor-owned utilities as well as renewable energy developers. Scott has been involved in the setting of protective relays, control design, QA/QC, energization, and event analysis for hundreds of substation projects. Scott has experience with; protective relay settings; design of relay and control protection systems; AC and DC schematics; control panel wiring and connection diagrams; metering configurations; RTU and HMI installations.
As the Principal Engineer for Engineering Services, Scott focuses on training and developing newer engineers and on providing technical expertise on complex subjects. He leads the Mortenson Engineering Services protective relaying discipline.
