Steve leads our business development strategy and drives our vision for the success and growth of the Chicago office. He identifies and develops new business opportunities as well as grows relationships with key customers and partners.
Steve has been with Mortenson since the onset of his career, starting in our Chicago office. Most recently, he served as campus executive at the Eagle Mountain Data Center project in Utah.
Steve is passionate about positioning Mortenson as a long-term partner and has been instrumental in developing meaningful relationships with customers here in Illinois. Steve also played a critical role on the $80 million Chicago Bears Halas Hall Addition & Renovation project and the $320 million Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL.
Steve holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from North Dakota State University.

More than 20 years of experience in construction management has taught me that the most valuable aspects of any project are the connections made with the customer, design team, trade partners, and team members. These relationships are vital to fostering a culture where everyone is seen, heard, and respected.
